How to find us
The Common Threads Festival takes place on the bottom of the Moor, near the Moorfoot Building. The address is: 108, The Moor, Sheffield, S1 4PD.
- There are many buses which stop right next to the festival site, including the SC1/SC2 free city centre routes. Search for ‘Moorfoot’ on Travel South Yorkshire to plan your route!
- It is a 15 minute walk from Sheffield Train Station, and a 10 minute walk from City Hall.
- There is bike parking nearby on Fitzwilliam Gate, The Moor and Cumberland Street.
This is what the installation looks like – so you’ll know you’re in the right place!
Access
- The Common Threads Festival is based outside so please dress for the weather. In severe weather conditions we will move inside the Aafly building at 108 The Moor.
- The installation has a small raised stage with ramp access surrounded by tall looms to weave onto.
- There will be some seating available at all workshops and performances.
- The nearest public toilets are in The Moor Market (approx 300 meters away).
- There will be a prayer space available on site.

Wayfinders
To help you find us, look out for our colourfully woven bike wheels on the street. These will lead the way to the bottom of the Moor where Common Threads Festival will be
Over the last few months we have been making different ‘wayfinders’ through a series of textile workshops. These have been made by The Freeman College and members of the public. Led by textile artist Suzi Clark and Chris Attwell from the Manor Weavers.
Food
Join us each day for the festival for a Pay What You Can home cooked meal!
- Food will be available from 1pm – 2pm.
- They will be vegetarian with a vegan option
- All ingredients will be listed, with allergens in bold
- The food is made with local veggies
- Free tap water will be available
