Malaika Cunningham

Malaika co-founded The Bare Project and has directed almost all the projects created by the company. She has also recently worked with Cardboard Citizens (as a trained forum theatre facilitator), and Invisible Flock (as a performer and artistic collaborator). In 2013 she began the Sheffield chapter of What Next?. She completed the Clore Emerging Leaders course in Spring 2015 and was a founder member of the Sheffield Creative Guild. She is completing her PhD with the Centre for Understanding Sustainable Prosperity (University of Leeds), exploring the role of participatory theatre practice in creating democratic spaces. From January 2021 she will be working with artsadmin as a researcher/artist.
