May 2013: Stainless
Part of Galvanise Festival, 4th May 2013, Bank Street Arts, Sheffield
This was a somewhereto_ project in partnership with Art in the Park, in which we transformed the inside of a local arts gallery into a Bauhausian metal themed fiesta to celebrate 100 years of stainless steel in Sheffield and platform the artistic endeavours of some local writers, designers, actors and musicians.
In each room new, metal themed wonders were beheld. We had a visual artist helping party goers make themselves headdresses, we had a costume room, interactive installations, performance poetry, a mini cinema, live music from a local handbell ringer group, the Sheffield University Samba Band and an avant garde flute quartet. We also had 4 pieces of new writing some local talent being performed throughout the space.

…this was storytelling as I’ve never seen before. – Audience member
I’ve never experienced an evening such like this before; it allowed everyone to shake off the rust, let loose and embrace the make believe. – Art in the Park
